Fisk Mastering Aeronautics Team
Fisk’s Rocket Team program was created to compete in the NASA sponsored USLI but has grown into much more. The annual competition mandates teams to design, build, and launch a rocket to take a scientific payload to an altitude of exactly one mile. Students are also expected to engage in “outreaches” to local metropolitan schools in an effort to get the youth engaged in the sciences. These outreaches have been done for over 3,000 students and have aided in bringing talented young minds into various fields of science. The ultimate goal of FAAMT is not only to launch a rocket, but to enrich minds and empower future generations for years to come.
